INFLUENCE OF LOG LENGTH ON THE PRODUCTIVITY OF WOOD HARVESTING AND TRANSPORTATION

The selection of machines and the development operating systems are major challenge for reducing costs in harvesting forest transportation. This work aimed to carry out a technical analysis transport activities two different log lengths (6 7m). operational cycles Harvester, Forwarder combined road train vehicle mechanized harvest areas were evaluated. was performed through studies times movements, determining efficiency productivity machines. Among studied models vehicles, one that showed best results both made with length 6 m 7 m, dimensions 2.35 width 2.85 height. These vehicles had total gross weight 63.52 tonnes logs 6m 69.17 tons 7m, 8.17% higher performance compared logs. With obtained it can be concluded increased transport.
